i read something today that reminded me of carsten's sig line...

Right Effort If your practice is good, you may become proud of it. What you do is good, but something more has been added to it. Pride is extra. Right effort is to get rid of something extra.

Yesterday I bought the new Billy Bragg/Wilco Woody Allen CD. It is just as good (if not better!) then the first one. ;) I bought four awesome CDs: Mermaid Avenue II (the BB/W guthry tribute), Alison Krause and Union Station (mmm... forgot the name... So long something?), Wide Swing Tremelo (Son Volt... this one is not new... people told me it wasn't too good... those people were obviously crack smokers), and a CD by Eliades Ochoa (from Buena Vista Social Club)... I bought this one for my mom a few months ago and finally got it for myself.

So good! And makes working the weekend bearable. ;)

last night two of my housemates played a little gig at the Railroad Coffee Shop by our house. there is something so tender and sweet about experiencing the art of people you know. somehow that art means more.

kyle sang a song he wrote two weeks ago... In the Back of the Truck. A sweet lonesome tribute to his truck (which he lived in for three months while experimenting with being an On The Road, living free and unencumbered and still surfing the waves lifestyle) which burned to the ground three weeks ago. it was sweet and tender and ... good.

off to work,
