Talk Amongst Yourselves
I'm going through the middle-of-the-month don't-have-a lot-to-say phase. So instead of forcing words to come or making something up, I'll just point you in some directions. Follow them if you would like.
MChabon wins.
Yesterday one of my favorite authors won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Michael Chabon wrote one of my favorite books, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. This award was for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. He teaches at UCI (read this story about their amazing program and about Chabon himself).
Daily Pit Stops.
I have daily web stops, people I check in on to see how they are doing, what they are doing, or what is new and shaking.
Brian and Eniko.
My friend Brian Tucker is getting ready to marry his longtime and very wonderful girlfriend, Eniko. Brian spent many months in Hungary last year and put his pictures online. Great shots of old cathedrals and meandering streamies.
Poi Dog is coming to town.
One of my favorite old bands, Poi Dog Pondering, is coming to town after five years away. Well, four-and-a-half, but close enough. Friday night I'm venturing south to see them with Sue and John. Can't wait. That'll be a night of sweaty-dancing-jumping goodness and appreciatively basking in the presense of Frank Orrall, love god.
