Missing Clotheslines
slo town averages 315 days of sunshine per year. and i never -- i mean never -- see laundry hanging. and you know what? that kinda makes me mad. ;) did you know that if everyone in america hung their clothes to dry we would save enough electricity to not require nuclear power for that year? it would be awkward for me to hang my clothes as i go to a laundrymat -- hauling home wet clothes is heavy and sloshy. or just heavy at least. i had a housemate, natalie. natalie was from australia and brought over something like four items of clothing -- i kid you not. and she would wash her clothes in the bath on a weekly basis and hang them to dry and i just loved that. this is funny since i have about five loads waiting to go right next to me and i am procrastinating. ;) m. |
